About

Hello, my name is Madison Yauger.

A native Floridian who chases journalism to two of the coldest climates in the U.S. and halfway across the world, is nothing if not committed.

Before corona made her debut, I earned a master’s degree at the Medill School of Journalism, and then traipsed over to Cape Town to cover human rights news. Intense, I know. Between covering the news of the day, exploring the culture and gorgeous landscape of South Africa, drinking a little wine, and swimming with a few sharks, it was the best three months of my life…but we can chat about that over coffee.

When the pandemic put a pause on life as we knew it, I began freelancing for some of my favorite magazine brands including Shape, Martha Stewart, Real Simple, and Health, and quickly became a jack-of-all-stories—writing about anything and everything. With the start of the new year (RIP 2020), I officially joined the Meredith Corporation family, starting out as a producer for Departures.com. Then I expanded into stories for all of our brands as a performance content writer on the central commerce team. And now I’m a commerce writer for the one and only PEOPLE (dot com) where I pinch myself everyday to make sure this is real life. I write stories about different products that might make your life a little better, with a few celebrity interviews mixed in.

When I’m not writing, I’m knee-deep in one to three books (probably thrillers), watching trashy reality television #BachelorNation, and talking to dogs in my building’s elevator while completely ignoring their owners.

This website holds my collection of work, published and unpublished. If you have spare time and a curiosity about me, dive into my ‘Diary’ where I spill the tea… on myself.
